1. The Rev. Al Sharpton denounced racism and called for accountability in the criminal justice system as he delivered an eulogy Thursday for George Floyd. Sharpton spoke near a casket carrying Floyd’s body at the North Central University in Minneapolis. The event was the first in a series of memorial services honoring Floyd. (CNN)

2. President Donald Trump will be visiting Guilford, ME, the 1,500-person town, as he tours the Puritan Medical Products facility today. Governor Janet Mills asked him not to visit earlier this week. (WGME)

3. The United States coronavirus cases top 1.8 million. America’s death toll stands at more than 108,000. The Maine CDC Thursday reported 28 more cases of the coronavirus and no additional deaths. The statewide death toll stands at 95 with 2,446 cases of which 612 are active. Over 1700 Mainers have recovered. (PRESS HERALD)

4. Bars, tasting rooms, fitness centers and nail salons in 13 Maine counties will be allowed to reopen on June 12 after the Mills administration bumped up the original timeline in response to positive trends in coronavirus cases. But the it will not apply to Cumberland, York or Androscoggin counties because of ongoing community transmission of the virus. (PRESS HERALD)

5. There is no baseball being played at Hadlock Field because of the coronavirus pandemic, and the Portland Sea Dogs’ season remains in doubt. Starting Monday, the Sea Dogs will offer takeout and limited delivery on some of their concession-stand staples. They will not be serving Sea Dogs Biscuits. There is also delivery available in the greater Portland area, through 2Dinein.com. Items are discounted from game-day prices. (PRESS HERALD)
