1. Police are investigating an armed robbery Thursday afternoon at a restaurant in Old Orchard Beach. According to police, it happened around 3:30 p.m. at China Eatery on Ocean Park Road. Police did not know Thursday if the armed robbery was connected to a string of armed robberies that have occurred across Cumberland County since March 20. If so, this would be the ninth armed robbery believed to be from the same armed robber. (WMTW)
2. Students and faculty at Windham High School were evacuated Thursday afternoon due to a bomb threat, the school district’s superintendent said in a tweet. The bomb threat was written on a bathroom wall inside the school, according to a release from police. Even though a K-9 sweep of Windham High School found nothing suspicious, district leaders made the decision to cancel classes today at Windham High School, Windham Middle School and Windham Primary School.
