1. A Greely High School student was detained by police Thursday after threatening to shoot three other students. The student referenced a gun in a backpack but no gun was found on school grounds.
2. South Portland is demanding the new owners of Redbank Village give them answers about rising rents. Last week, the city asked JRK to submit a summary of all the rent increases – and to include current and new rent amounts. It gave a 4:30pm Friday deadline and had not received the information as of Thursday.
3. Bike To Work Day! The Bicycle Coalition of Maine is holding a celebration in Congress Square Park. The event is open to the public and will include demos, tips, giveaways, music and free coffee, bagels, and donuts from 8am-10am.
4. Hot Pockets just announced they’re going to start selling cold pockets. “Deliwich” sandwiches. The concept of these thaw-and-eat sandwiches is that people can take their Deliwiches out of the freezer in the morning, thaw for two to four hours, and then enjoy them at lunchtime.
