1. The United States coronavirus cases top 1,329,000. America’s death toll stands at more than 79,000. A leading model now forecasts that 137,000 Americans will die by August. That rise is largely due to Americans moving around more. Researchers tracked that movement through anonymous cell phone data, according to the release. (CNN)

2. As of Sunday’s Maine CDC briefing. There were no new coronavirus-related deaths reported in the state. Maine has seen a total 64 deaths and 1,436 cases. There were 511 active cases as of Sunday. On a Mother’s Day unlike any other, Maine’s CDC director calls moms “the most essential workers of all.” (PRESS HERALD)

3. The town of Wells is reopening public beaches today including Drake’s Island Beach, Crescent Beach, Wells Beach and Moody Beach. Mainers are only allowed to swim, fish, walk, workout and surf at the beaches. Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth is also reopening today. Park visitors are also expected to follow social distancing guidelines, staying at least six feet apart from people outside their immediate household. (WGME)

4. Retail stores in rural maine counties are allowed to resume in-store services today. This excludes Cumberland, York, Androscoggin and Penobscot counties. Stores will have to follow added health and safety protocols like restricting the number of customers inside. Fitness and exercise gyms are also allowed to reopen Monday for outdoor classes of 10 people or less. One-on-one indoor classes are also allowed. Restaurants in those 12 counties will be allowed to resume restricted dine-in services next Monday. (WGME)

5. Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino said “full scale” concerts may not return until 2021. He added there may be indoor shows with no fans or reduced capacity admission. High-profile artists who usually play arenas or stadiums could play clubs or theaters for high prices. “Our goal is really to be on sale in the third and fourth quarters for 2021 at full scale,” Rapino said. “We’re just going to [watch] the science and see when we can get back out there on a safe manner,” Rapino added.
