1. Former Vice President Joe Biden has vowed to be more respectful of people’s personal space after being accused of inappropriately touching women in the past. “I worked my whole life to empower women,” the 76-year-old politician said. “So the idea that I can’t adjust to the fact that personal space is important, more important than it’s ever been, is just not thinkable. I will.” He added, “I will also remain the strongest advocate I can be for the rights of women.” (People)
2. Benjamin Campbell, A Maine state trooper, was killed on Interstate 95 in Hampden on Wednesday morning when he was struck by one of two wheels that detached from a passing logging truck while he was assisting a stopped motorist. Campbell had stopped to assist a driver who had spun out on a slippery section of the roadway. (Press Herald)
3. The Portland Press Herald reports the weekly Portland Phoenix shut down publication in February after losing a pair of major advertisers. The publisher says he made the decision to close the weekly and lay off its two full-time employees, but he hopes the closure’s only temporary. (NewsCenterMaine)
4. For the fourth time in five years, Maine Wood Concepts has made the wooden Easter eggs used at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The eggs will be on display at the “Taste of Farmington” event at the Farmington Community Center on Saturday April 6. The White House Easter Egg Roll will take place on April 22, the day after Easter Sunday. (WGME)

The concession menu at Hadlock Field will feature a few new items, Lobster Popcorn (tender lobster meat slathered in butter and served in a red plastic miniature batting helmet) and the Fried Dough Burger (eight cheeseburger patties, crumbled bacon, lettuce and tomato between two dinner plate-sized disks of fried dough).
