1. The York County Sheriff’s Office says two people were killed in a plane crash off Route 1 in Arundel Wednesday. The single-engine plane crashed in the woods around 2 p.m. near Wiers’ Motors.
2. The mother involved in Tuesday’s AMBER Alert is back in Maine after she surrendered to police in Massachusetts. Alexandra Vincent accused of taking her two children from a home in Saco and fleeing the state. Authorities say that DHHS had gone to the Saco home to remove the children.
3.Opening in December the Old Port will have its first Puerto Rican restaurant and bar called Papi. This new place is inspired from the childhood of the Executive Chef Ronnie Medlock and Beverage Director LyAnna Sanabria. Papi will offer authentic Puerto Rican food such as empanadas and pollo guisado.
4. The Savannah Bananas are bringing their “World Famous Baseball Circus” to Hadlock Field on Aug. 18, 2023. Some have compared them to the Harlem Globetrotters in basketball. Banana Ball is a fast-paced, action-packed style of baseball with rules that include no bunting, a two-hour time limit, fans catching foul balls for outs, batters stealing first base, and a one-on-one tiebreaker showdown at the end of the game if it’s tied.
5. King Charles III’s coronation date will tentatively be June 3 at Westminster Abbey in London. Palace sources say they are hoping for the ceremony to take place on that specific day, but it’s not yet set in stone. The June ceremony will mark the beginning of his reign as a monarch. Queen Consort Camilla Parker-Bowles will also be crowned alongside him. Charles will be 74 and will become the oldest person to be crowned king in British history.
