1. Police say there is no threat to the public in connection with 82-year-old Jim Pearson’s killing. They are looking for connections between the incident in Scarborough and violence over the weekend in other communities. An elderly man was attacked in Freeport Saturday and police arrested a suspect in the case of a beaten woman in West Bath on Sunday. (WGME)
2. Stephen Pilson, A Massachusetts man was arrested in Augusta for kidnapping a woman and attempting to take her to Canada. Using a K-9, police tracked Pilson into a heavily wooded area. The dog apprehended him. (WMTW)

Vandals spray-painted graffiti across Portland City Hall Plaza late Sunday night. “No one deserves to be out in the cold,” someone wrote in big black letters. “No cap on the new shelter.” A police spokesperson said “Defacing city property is not the right way to share your message. 4. Snow developing between 8 a.m.-10 a.m. and ending around 1 a.m. Wednesday will cause a tricky commute this evening. Three to six inches is expected.
