1. The Supreme Court ruled Monday that President Trump’s immigration travel ban against six majority-Muslim countries can take full effect while legal challenges against the latest version are still tied up in courts. The ruling means all travelers from Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and Chad with “bona fide” connections to the United States cannot enter the United States while the cases proceed. (WCSH)

2. The NFL suspended New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski one game on Monday for a late, gratuitous hit to the head of Bills defensive back Tre’Davious White. Gronkowski will appeal the punishment, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told The Associated Press. White entered the concussion protocol, Bills Coach Sean McDermott said. After the game, Patriots Coach Bill Belichick appeared to apologize to his Buffalo counterpart. Gronkowski also apologized, saying he let his frustration get the better of him. (Press Herald)

3. TIME has narrowed down the list of candidates for its 2017 Person of the Year to 10 finalists. Revealed on Monday’s episode of TODAY, they include 2016 Person of the Year Donald Trump and, well, a lot of people Trump doesn’t like. NFL player and protestor Colin Kaepernick, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Amazon founder (and Washington Post owner) Jeff Bezos, Justice Department special prosecutor Robert Mueller, the 800,000 undocumented immigrants known as “The Dreamers,” and the women of the “#MeToo” movement against sexual harassment and abuse are also contenders for this year’s award, as is Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. The winner will be revealed on Wednesday’s episode of TODAY. (Today)

4. Two Maine cities have been ranked among the safest places to live in the entire country. According to Wallethub.com Lewiston is the seventh-safest city and Portland is the ninth-safest city in the nation. In order to determine the safest cities in which to live, WalletHub’s analysts compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, across three key dimensions: 1) Home & Community Safety, 2) Financial Safety, and 3) Natural-Disaster Risk. Nashua, NH was ranked the safest city. Fort Lauderdale, FL was ranked last. (WalletHub)

5. Taco Bell is currently testing out the California Burrito in Charleston, West Virginia. Invented in San Diego, the “California Burrito” typically comes loaded with french fries, meat, cheese, guacamole, and salsa. Foodbeast reports that Taco Bell’s version is called the “California Loaded Fries Burrito” and includes ground beef as the protein of choice and nacho cheese and sour cream instead of shredded cheese.
