1. Voters in New Hampshire will head to the polls for the first presidential primary in the nation. Most polling centers opened this morning between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. depending on where you live. They close between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. (WGME)
2. The Maine Center for Disease Control announced Monday that they are testing the first person in the state for the coronavirus. So far, 12 people from six states have tested positive for coronavirus. There are no confirmed cases in Maine. The potential risk to the public is considered low. (WGME)
3. A Camden couple plan to open a pro-Trump cafe called Covfefe, a term coined by the president when he apparently misspelled the word ‘coverage’ in a social media post. Covfefe Coffee and Gifts will open at 325 Old County Road, where a sign has been erected and a Trump 2020 flag already is flying. (PRESS HERALD)
4. MLB is considering some changes to the league’s playoff format. The first proposal is to add two more playoff teams to each league. In the new format, the team with the best record in each league would receive a bye and go directly to the Division Series. The Division winner with the second best record would then get to decide what wild card team they prefer to play in round one on live TV. Those wildcard matchups would be best of 3 series, and would all take place in the Division winner’s home park. (LARRY BROWN SPORTS)
