1. A 22-year-old man who collapsed on Brighton Avenue after crashing his car Saturday afternoon died of a stab wound to the chest, Portland police said Monday. Patrick Lobor, a former Deering High School basketball player, was driving one of three vehicles involved in a crash Saturday afternoon on Brighton Avenue. Police said Lobor got out of his car, stumbled to the middle of the intersection and collapsed. He was found dead by first responders. The manner of death – such as homicide, suicide or accident – remains under investigation and police are still looking to speak with anyone who saw the crash or had contact with Lobor before the incident. 2. On Sunday, an Indiana family filed a $100 million lawsuit against the owners and operators of a Ride the Ducks tourist boat that sank in a lake near Branson, Missouri, on July 19, killing 17 people. Nine of those victims came from the family that filed the suit, which states, “This tragedy was the…predicted result of decades of unacceptable, greed-driven and willful ignorance of safety by the Duck Boat industry in the face of specific and repeated warnings that their Duck Boats are death traps for passengers and pose grave danger to the public on water and on land.” The AP reports that the lawsuit also alleges that the boat operators violated their own company policy by allowing the tour to continue despite severe-weather warnings. 3. According to WMTW Brunswick police are urging caution after four people were attacked last week by a fox that possibly had rabies. Police said a 5-year-old girl was attacked Friday while playing outside her home on Moody Road. The child’s mother was also bitten. Later, a man was scratched by the fox after it attacked his dog.Police said the fox bit a woman on the ankle later that night. Officers later found the fox and killed it. Brunswick Animal Control Officer Heidi Nelson said the number of attacks is not unusual because they typically come in clusters. Four rabid fox attacks were reported in Brunswick in June. (WMTW)

4. Three Dollar Deweys, a pub that’s been a staple of the Old Port for nearly 40 years and that helped to launch Maine’s craft beer scene, has closed. “The family has made the decision to retire,” a sign posted on the door over the weekend said. “Our family has been honored sharing this time with you. Family traditions have a way of continuing forward.” (PressHerald)
