2.The White House has given federal agencies 30 days to ensure that TikTok isn’t on a single federal device. Contractors working with the federal government have 90 days to do the same. The Department of Defense already banned TikTok. (ABC)
3. A bill to repeal Maine’s single-use plastic bag ban will get a public hearing on Wednesday. If passed, retail stores will be allowed to use plastic bags as long as there’s a receptacle where they can be collected for recycling. (WGME)
4. Unity College announced this week that it’s undergoing a “name augmentation” and the school is now called Unity Environmental University. The college said its new name will be phased in over the next several months, with signs and campus materials. (PH)
5. Three bison broke free from their pen Monday morning, and one of the animals was apparently still at large last night in northern Maine, according to the Fort Fairfield Police Department. Motorists were asked to use caution. The owner could face charges. (PH)
