1. Mark Zuckerberg got through his testimony to Congress last month pretty much unscathed. He didn’t fare as well yesterday with European lawmakers in Brussels. The Facebook CEO apologized for mistakes, like the data-sharing scandal and other privacy woes, but members of the European Parliament ripped him for what they said was his dodging of their questions. The forum’s setup — with all the lawmakers asking their questions first, then Zuckerberg answering them — didn’t help. As it ended, Zuckerberg promised the lawmakers Facebook would respond to all of the questions in writing in the “next few days.” (CNN)
2. Three men were arrested in Lebanon after state troopers caught them using a pickup truck to drag a 25-foot long stolen shed down the road, according to Maine State Police. The structure was taken from a foreclosed property in Lebanon, and police say one of the suspects had crystal meth and prescription pills that had not been prescribed to him. (Press Herald)
3. A 30-year-old man was ordered to vacate his parents’ New York home on Tuesday after they sued him for refusing to move out. ABC 7 reports that Mark and Christina Rotondo had been trying for months to get their son Michael to leave their home, where he has been living rent-free for eight years after moving back in when he lost his job. The Rotondos said that Michael never contributed financially or by doing any chores. They also alleged that he accepted $1,100 they gave him to find a place of his own, but proceeded to ignore their requests for him to leave. The Rotondos took the case to court after months of being ignored by Michael because New York state law protects family members from eviction. After the judge ruled that Michael would have to leave the home immediately, he called the ruling “outrageous” and said he plans to appeal. (ABC7)
