André 3000 is releasing an album with new music for the first time in 17 years, but it’s not what you’d expect. New Blue Sun is going to feature his flautist side! It’s going to be filled with songs made with Contrabass flute, Mayan flutes, bamboo flutes, and digital flutes.
He gets it – one of the tracks is titled, “I Swear, I Really Wanted To Make a ‘Rap’ Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time.” Who are we to question the wind?! When asked if he still works on rap music, he said, “it’s kind of like, I don’t know how to rock on that, really, in a way that I feel great about it. So if I can’t find a way to rock on it, I kind of leave it there.” It happens to the best of them, I’m sure. Regardless, looking forward to hearing his flute work on Friday!
