Happy Earth Day! Today we celebrate how lucky we are to live on planet Earth and make a conscious effort to take care of it.
Cities and towns across the state are holding community cleanups to pick up trash, revamp garden beds, replant/re-pot and much more to keep Maine green. Does your yard need some love? There’s no better day than Earth Day to get started on your spring cleanup!
After you’re done getting your hands dirty, relax and enjoy the Earth Day Film Festival! Maine Outdoor Film Festival has teamed up with the Maine Audubon to stream a selection of short films and host a virtual raffle in celebration of the Earth. You can buy a ticket here.
Check your town/city’s website or Facebook page to see how your neck of the woods is giving back to nature today! But remember, you can give back to the planet everyday–not just today.
I’ve made a commitment to recycle as much as I can over the past few years! I follow this super helpful guide from ecomaine. It’s an awesome reminder and makes recycling EASY.
Be sure to check with your local recycling center to see what they accept!
How will you be showing your appreciation for the Earth today?
REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE.
