Say it isn’t so! The St. Lunatics are suing Nelly over the collective’s breakthrough album Country Grammar. The lawsuit said Nelly promised to pay the members of the group for the success of their 2000 album, but no money was ever seen.
The plaintiffs, Ali (Ali Jones), Murphy Lee (Tohri Harper), Kyjuan (Robert Kyjuan), and City Spud (Lavell Webb), said they trusted Nelly to do the right thing and credit them on the album but were left out. Nelly’s legal team is expected to argue that the statute of limitations for copyright ownership may have expired, making the suit null and void.
Hate to see this – hopefully it’s just a big misunderstanding!
