On Wednesday, a judge sentenced R. Kelly to 30 years in prison for his conviction on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly gave the sentence after hearing from several survivors of Kelly’s crimes. In an upcoming trial, he’s facing child pornography and obstruction of justice charges in Chicago. Proceedings are scheduled to begin on August 15th.
