In an exciting announcement made on Sunday, the NFL and Apple Music jointly revealed that Usher, the cherished R&B sensation, has been chosen to headline the eagerly awaited halftime show. The news was unveiled by reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who incorporated it into the opening scene of his “Confessions, Pt. II” music video. Apple Music also released similar announcement videos with Deion Sanders, Marshawn Lynch, and OBJ.
Usher said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.” This year will mark the fifth year of the partnership between the NFL and Roc Nation to produce the Halftime Show. “Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul,” JAY-Z said in a statement. “His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”
Usher also announced that his new album, Coming Home, will be released on Super Bowl Sunday.
Super Bowl LVIII will be Feb. 11 at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
