2. A popular beach in Ogunquit remains roped off after rat poison was discovered along the rocks. Interim Town Manager Mark O’Brien said the order to use the rat poison came “from the previous administration.” (WMTW)

The University of Southern Maine says it is prepared to press criminal charges against the man who allegedly harassed a female student of color during an incident Friday in Glickman Library on the Portland campus. In a statement issued on its Facebook page, the university said the man who harassed the student is not a student himself. USM said the man will be issued a criminal trespass citation if he should try to re-enter the library. (PH)

5. On Monday, the 200th edition of the Farmer’s Almanac was released and it’s calling for a cold and snowy winter. According to the publication’s website, the Northeast may see wintry conditions as early as November. It also predicts a bitter cold snap in February. (WMTW)
