1. Former President George H.W. Bush was released from the hospital in Biddeford on Monday and returned home to Kennebunkport. President Trump called off Tuesday’s scheduled White House visit by the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, citing the dispute over whether NFL players must stand during the playing of the national anthem. Trump said in a statement Monday that some members of the team “disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country.” He said the team wanted to send a smaller delegation, but “the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better.” (PressHerald)

4. Police arrested a Waterville woman Sunday night after responding to a fire call on Summer Street where a woman was allegedly burning her boyfriend’s possessions in the street. Upon arrival, police discovered that Victoria Mann, 29, had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend earlier that night. After the argument, the boyfriend left, and police say Mann then dragged the boyfriend’s clothes and a few belongings into the street and then set fire to them. Mann, who lives on Summer Street, was arrested on charges of arson and criminal mischief. (PressHerald)
