Mark Wahlberg is heading back to Boston for a very special reason.
The Boston native has announced that he will be the producer of Patriots’ Day about the events of the five-day manhunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in his role of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.
Matt Charman’s in progress script is based on Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis account of the harrowing April 15 – April 19 stretch from the initial incident to Tsarnaev’s apprehension.
‘There is nothing more compelling than a real story populated by real heroes,” CBS Films president Terry Press aid, via press release. “The team that we have assembled for this project is determined to give audiences a very personal look at what occurred during the days when the eyes of the world were on the city of Boston and how a group of contemporary patriots faced this crisis.”
Rumor has it that Mark Wahlberg hopes to play Davis, who led the manhunt.
