1. Joe Biden won’t be among the parade of White House hopefuls in California this week, skipping the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting to campaign in New Hampshire instead. The former vice president will have the nation’s first primary state essentially to himself as his top rivals jockey for attention from hundreds of Democratic officials gathered in San Francisco. 2. Two more burglaries in Portland bring total to 12 in three weeks. The Squeaky Clean Laundromat on Washington Avenue is one of two businesses that were burglarized overnight, according to Portland police. They say that Others, a cafe on Monument Square, was also broken into between Sunday night and Monday morning. Police say that they’re reviewing all available security camera video, and say that this is very unusual for Portland. (WGME)
3. The memorial to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing is complete. Three stone pillars representing the three people who died at the race’s Boylston Street finish line were installed early Monday, marking the final step of the $2 million project, which took four years to plan and develop. Two bronze bricks have been set in the sidewalk to honor the police officers killed in the bombing’s aftermath. (WGME)
