1. Beloved former First Lady and part-time Maine resident Barbara Bush died Tuesday at her home in Houston, Texas. She was 92. The news comes shortly after it was announced that she was in “failing” health and would stop seeking additional medical treatment in order to spend time with family. Bush served as America’s first lady from 1989 to 1993. (ABC News)

2. The Maine Senate passed a recreational marijuana bill Tuesday. It will head to Governor Paul LePage’s, but he plans to veto it. Governor LePage believes users will purchase medical marijuana to avoid paying the excise tax, but sponsors disagree with the governor and say the bill will be better for the market. The Senate approved the bill 25 to 10. If the vote holds, it’s enough to override the governor’s potential veto. (WGME)

3. On Tuesday, Starbucks announced that it would be closing all 8,000 of its U.S. stores on the afternoon of May 29 so that its managers can undergo racial-bias training. The decision comes nearly a week after two black men were arrested at a Philadelphia store for trespassing while doing nothing more than waiting for a friend. Furthermore, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said that he’d met with and personally apologized to the two men who were arrested. (Reuters)

4. Jaylen Brown had a playoff career-high 30 points and the Boston Celtics pulled away into second half to earn a 120-106 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. Terry Rozier added 23 points for Boston, which took a 2-0 series lead in the first-round matchup. Game 3 is set for Friday in Milwaukee. Boston Marathon winner Desiree Linden was honored during a timeout in the first quarter. On Monday Linden became the first American woman to win the race since 1985 (Boston Sports)
